359 Polling Stations in Karnali Declared Highly Sensitive for Upcoming Federal Elections

Surkhet. For the House of Representatives election scheduled for this Falgun 21, 359 polling stations in Karnali have been identified as highly sensitive from a security perspective.

Karnali Province Police Office Chief, Deputy Inspector General Jayaraj Sapkota, informed that across the 10 districts of the province, 359 polling stations are highly sensitive, 422 are sensitive, and 160 are normal.

The province has a total of 959 polling stations, comprising 941 permanent and 18 temporary ones. Among the 1,455 polling centers here, 446 polling centers are highly sensitive in terms of security. There are 697 sensitive centers and 284 centers in normal condition.

The number of locations with only one center in Karnali is 525, those with two centers are 353, 49 locations have three centers, 12 locations have four centers, one location has five centers, and one location has six centers. The number of temporary locations with one center is 18, and the number of additional polling centers is 496.

Karnali has 12 constituencies for the House of Representatives elections. Surkhet and Dailekh each have two constituencies, while the other eight districts have one constituency each. The total voter population in the province is 1,037,018, and Karnali comprises 54 rural municipalities and 25 municipalities.
