Revolutionary Communist Party Nepal Condemns Arrests of Leaders, Demands Immediate Release

Kathmandu. The Revolutionary Communist Party Nepal has strongly protested the arbitrary arrest of its leaders.

In a press statement issued by the party spokesperson Sudarshan, the party condemned the arrest of alternate politburo member Soman Singh Tamang from Banepa, Kavre, and Dang district committee member Man Bahadur Oli, demanding their immediate release.

The party accused Prime Minister Sushila Karki of double standards, claiming that on one hand she states that those boycotting the elections have no influence, and on the other, she is arresting those very leaders and cadres without cause.

The party has also appealed to human rights activists and civil society to raise their voices against this action.

Furthermore, the party drew attention to the misinformation being spread on social media and in the media by linking the name of its General Secretary CP Gajurel. The party clarified that a statement circulated under the name of leader Gaurav of the Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist) was being publicized as that of its General Secretary, which the party stated was not theirs.
