Transport Office Official and Middleman Arrested in Hetauda for Bribery

Makwanpur. An official from the Transport Management Office in Hetauda and a middleman have been apprehended by a team from the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) while accepting a bribe.

The CIAA team, deployed based on a tip-off that they were demanding a bribe from a service seeker for facilitating vehicle transfer agreements, caught them red-handed.

The team from the CIAA office in Hetauda arrested Amrit Bhetuwal, a level six official working at the transport office, and Khagendra Paudel, a notary public operating as a middleman.

The CIAA stated that both individuals were apprehended from the office premises in Hetauda Metropolitan City Ward No. 11 while Paudel had already accepted a bribe of 11,500 rupees from the service seeker.

Three mobile sets were also recovered from the possession of the arrested individuals. The CIAA had intensified surveillance on them for some time following a complaint that money transactions were taking place under the pretext of getting the service seeker's work done.

Spokesperson Suresh Neupane informed that both arrested individuals are currently in custody while further investigation is underway.
