Nepali Congress VP Bhusal Endorses Candidate for Women's Rights Advocacy

Kathmandu. Nepali Congress Vice President Pushpa Bhusal Gautam stated that the party has nominated Nanu Bastola as a candidate to convey the voices of women's rights and the LGBTQ+ community in the parliament.

While campaigning for Congress candidate Bastola in Kathmandu Constituency No. 9 on Tuesday, she mentioned that Nanu is the most suitable candidate to represent the interests of women and the LGBTQ+ community.

She said, 'Congress has included policies in its manifesto to reduce unemployment, violence, and discrimination, connect the labor of our sisters with national income, and build a strong economy. I pledge that Congress will contest the elections alone and field the maximum number of female candidates in decisive seats. As Nanu Bastola's victory in this constituency is certain, I extend advance best wishes to her as she is a development-loving, popular leader and a proponent of good governance.'

Vice President Bhusal also stated that while all demands raised by the LGBTQ+ generation are legitimate, the destruction that occurred on Bhadra 24 in their name is always condemnable.

She further expressed the Congress's full commitment to establishing good governance and a corruption-free society, as well as rebuilding destroyed infrastructure after the elections.

Appealing to the sisters, she said, 'I request the sisters to apply the ashes of that destroyed structure as a mark on their foreheads and engage in the Nepali Congress campaign, stating that we are in favor of peace and good governance, not conflict.'
