Former Minister Sudin Kirati Donates to Athlete Sabitri Bhandari (Samba) for Treatment

Kathmandu. Sudin Kirati, a leader of the Progressive Democratic Party and former minister, has provided a support of NPR 10,000 to Sabitri Bhandari (Samba). He announced that he would donate NPR 10,000 from the proceeds of his book 'Palpal ko Mrityu' (Death Every Moment).

He stated: 'Athlete Sabitri Bhandari (Samba), who brings glory to the nation's image by turning sweat, pain, and hard struggle into victory while wearing the nation's jersey, is not just a striker on the field; she is the pride and hope of the nation. It is not only the duty of the state but also a respect for the players to treat and protect such a priceless gem of the nation. Investing in her health is investing in the nation's self-respect and future. Therefore, I demand that the government fully bear the cost of her medical treatment.'

He further added: 'There are many instances where the government has announced cash prizes to encourage players in the past but failed to deliver. Therefore, in this context, we should not rely on the government for Samba's treatment. If the distinguished individuals residing in the country and abroad, and the 3,428 candidates who are spending millions in the election arena, cut down their expenses and contribute just NPR 5,000 each, it would amount to NPR 1,71,40,000 just from the candidates' side. I request that all candidates who are enthusiastically moving forward to represent the nation also pay attention to this matter.'
