Former CPN-UML Lawmaker Samjhana Thapaliya Joins Rastriya Swatantra Party in Siraha

Siraha. Former CPN-UML lawmaker Samjhana Thapaliya has joined the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP). Thapaliya, along with other UML leaders and cadres, defected to the RSP during a special program organized in Golbazar, Siraha.

They were welcomed into the party by RSP leader and proportional representation candidate Purushottam Yadav. Thapa was a proportional representation lawmaker for the Khas Arya category in the 2079 elections.

Thapaliya, who was active in the CPN-UML for a long time, had recently announced her departure from the party, alleging that 'familialism' was dominating the CPN-UML Siraha district committee and that veteran cadres were not being valued.
