Corruption Case Against Former Madhesh Province Minister Saroj Kumar Singh and 15 Others Scheduled for Hearing

The hearing date has been set for the corruption case filed against suspended lawmaker Saroj Kumar Singh, a former state minister of Madhesh Province, and 16 others.

The case is scheduled for hearing on Monday before the bench of Special Court judges Narayan Prasad Poudel, Hemanta Rawal, and Bidur Koirala.

The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has sought a claim of NPR 3,850,319 against Singh in the corruption case. The commission alleges that funds deposited into the consumer committee's account were withdrawn through his private secretary, Binod Kumar Lal Kayastha, and subsequently misappropriated by depositing the amount into a joint account held in his name and his wife's name.

It is on this charge that the corruption case was filed against Singh and 16 others in the Special Court.

The other defendants against whom the case was filed include Ramesh Mader, Amlesh Kumari, Deeparaj Devi Rajput, Bhikhari Raut Kurmi, Bhupendra Kumar Jha, Manju Devi Pasman, Ramnath Sahani, Swikriti Devi, Ramsharan Khatwe, Bibha Devi Khatwe, Shambhu Kumar Mandal, Yogendra Mahato, Sunayana Kumari, Yamuna Prasad Mahato, and Koushilya Devi.
