CPN-UML Leader Claims Democracy Threatened by Rastriya Swatantra Party, Not Former King Gyanendra

Kathmandu. CPN-UML Central Committee member Samik Badal commented that democracy is under threat from the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), which is leading anarchy, rather than from former King Gyanendra Shah. Badal made this remark while speaking at a program organized in Kathmandu on Sunday.

He asserted that a narrative suggesting the democratic system is in danger based solely on the statement made by former King Gyanendra Shah on the occasion of Democracy Day should not be constructed. He objected to the attempt to accuse the CPN-UML by the government, formed through Discord, for not making the Janata Ghimire Commission's investigation report public on time.

He also claimed that his party would secure a majority in the elections.
