Saudi Arabia's Nepali Ambassador Resigns After Government Recall

Kathmandu. Naresh Bikram Dhakal, the Nepali Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, has resigned among those recalled by the government. The government formed after the Janji movement recalled 11 ambassadors stationed in various countries in the last week of Ashoj.

So far, seven of them have resigned. Four ambassadors are still spending time by reporting to the ministry. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has accepted Ambassador Dhakal's resignation. According to a source at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dhakal resigned from his post some time ago, and his resignation was accepted today.

Previously, Nepali Ambassador to Russia Jang Bahadur Chauhan, Nepali Ambassador to Malaysia Dr. Netra Prasad Timalsina, Nepali Ambassador to the United States Lokdarshan Regmi, Nepali Ambassador to China Krishna Prasad Oli, Nepali Ambassador to the UK Chandrakumar Ghimire, and Nepali Ambassador to Qatar Ramesh Paudel had resigned at different times.

Nepali Ambassador to Germany Shail Rupakheti, Ambassador to Israel Dhan Prasad Pandit, Ambassador to Spain Shanil Nepal, and Nepali Ambassador to Japan Dr. Durga Bahadur Subedi have not yet resigned.

They have been reporting to the ministry and drawing salaries and allowances. An official from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said, 'We do not know if the recalled ambassadors are working at the ministry; nobody knows when they come or when they go, but they are receiving their monthly salaries and allowances.'
