Shram Sanskriti Party Chairman Harka Raj Rai Comments on Budget Implementation Challenges

Kathmandu. Shram Sanskriti Party Chairman Harka Raj Rai has commented that the law itself is an obstacle to budget implementation.

Participating in the discussion on various ministry headings under the Appropriation Bill in the House of Representatives on Tuesday, he suggested the government make legal arrangements for the budget to be implemented.

Chairman Rai said that he had also found errors in the budget allocated by the government where the calculations did not match. He emphasized that the government should end the situation where the budget is not implemented as in the past.

Chairman Rai said, 'We make a budget. However, due to reasons such as contracts and forest laws, it takes a long time for its implementation. I had also met the Law Minister and advised him – this government should make budget implementation easier. For that, necessary legal surgery must be done. Otherwise, we will make a budget, but we will not be able to spend it. Then we will have to build roads in Asar and walk.'

Chairman Rai has emphasized the need to end the situation of making a budget but not being able to spend it.
