Host Mills Veterans Club Clinches Fourth Mills Veterans Gold Cup Football Title in Biratnagar

Biratnagar. The host Mills Veterans Club (Blue) has won the title of the fourth Mills Veterans Gold Cup Football Tournament.

In the final match held on Saturday at the Biratnagar Jute Mill ground, the host team became the champion by defeating 'Hamro Itahari Veterans Club' from Sunsari by a score of 1-0.

Along with the title, the host Mills Veterans secured a cash prize of NPR 81,111 and a trophy. The runner-up, Itahari Veterans, settled for a cash prize of NPR 41,111 and a trophy.

Denim Rai scored the decisive goal for the host's victory. Rai capitalized on an excellent cross pass provided by captain Ranu Rana Magar from outside the D-box, sending the ball into the net. That single goal proved sufficient for the team's win.

In the individual categories of the tournament, Dilip Baskota from the host team was declared the 'Player of the Tournament'. Similarly, Suraj Shrestha, also from the host, became the tournament's top scorer (High Scorer), netting a total of 3 goals throughout the competition. Komal Khawas was declared the 'Man of the Series' for the tournament.

The prize distribution ceremony was held in the presence of the Chief Guest, Koshi Province Minister for Forest and Tourism, Bhim Parajuli. Prizes were distributed to the winning and runner-up players by Ward Chairman of Biratnagar-16, Uddhav Kumar Bhujel, Mills Veterans Club President Buddhiraj Darai, and others.

This tournament, which began on Falgun 6, was organized by Mills Veterans Club, Rani, and featured the participation of a total of 10 teams.
