Passenger Bus Crashes into Electric Pole in Rautahat, Nine Injured

Rautahat. A passenger bus has met with an accident in Gaur, the district headquarters. The accident occurred on Friday around 11:30 AM on the Gaur-Chhipur road section when the bus lost control near a dal mill and struck an electric pole on the roadside. Approximately 40 passengers were aboard the bus at the time of the accident, resulting in nine injuries.

The injured have been identified as Ranjay Yadav, 32, from Gadhimai Municipality-1, Rautahat; Binod Baitha, 42, from Yamunamai Rural Municipality-3; Niraj Kumar Gupta, 26, from Garuda Municipality-4; Nur Mohammad, 30, from Kalaiya Sub-Metropolitan City-1, Bara; Sunita Keshari, 42, from Hetauda Sub-Metropolitan City-4; Lasiv Sahani, 60, from Sitamarhi district, India; Dev Narayan Baitha, 44, from Gamariya district, India; Shubham Kumar Baitha, 20; and Lalan Sah, 55, from Shivhar district, India.

According to the police, most of the injured are in stable to moderate condition. They were sent to the Provincial Hospital in Gaur for treatment, while some of the injured were referred to the Eye Hospital in Puranawa and Birgunj for further medical care.

Following the accident, a police team from the District Police Office, Rautahat, was deployed to the scene. The bus driver, Rizwan Khan, 24, a resident of Chandrapur Municipality-8, has been taken into police custody.

It has been reported that the condition of the injured is currently out of danger. The wrecked bus remains at the accident site, and preparations are underway to bring it to the District Police Office. Police informed that the road was not obstructed due to the incident. Other passengers have already proceeded to their respective destinations.

Police have initiated further investigation into the accident.
