Rastriya Prajatantra Party Condemns RSP Cadres for Disrespecting Former King Birendra's Statue

The Lumbini Province chapter of the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP), led by Rabi Lamichhane's Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), has expressed serious concern over the disrespectful and indecent behavior exhibited by RSP cadres who stood atop the statue of former King Birendra Shah.

Issuing a statement on Friday, Provincial Secretary Rajendra Adhikari strongly condemned and regretted the act. A warning was also issued, stating that such anarchic behavior affecting anyone's faith would not be tolerated.

The RPP has urged the RSP to immediately clarify its stance on the activity and issue an apology. The RPP also demanded a commitment that such incidents would not be repeated. The statement, signed by Provincial Secretary Adhikari, read, 'It is the responsibility of all responsible parties to create an environment where voters can cast their ballots without fear during elections. Therefore, we urge all parties and individuals not to engage in any activity that affects other parties and to create an environment of healthy competition.'

It was reported that on Thursday, while RSP Chairman Rabi Lamichhane was en route to Dang, RSP cadres behaved indecently by standing on the statue of former King Birendra at Birendra Chowk in Tulsipur Sub-Metropolitan City.
