Nepali Congress President Gagan Thapa Criticizes Alliance Politics, Pledges Reforms

Kathmandu. Nepali Congress President Gagan Kumar Thapa stated that alliance politics has corrupted Nepali politics.

During a direct question-and-answer session regarding the manifesto, addressing from the Rastriya Sabhagriha, President Thapa committed that Congress will move forward by correcting the shortcomings experienced during party operation and the errors made while governing.

'We have come with the resolve that the transformed Nepali Congress will change the country,' he said. 'We will further sharpen our values and principles.'

He pledged that because the culture of alliances for power and authority has damaged Nepali politics, Congress will not enter into any alliance agreement with anyone starting this time.

'Not just in elections, but we will not allow, nor will we let happen, the division of spoils in various constitutional and political appointments even after the government is formed. This is the resolve of the transformed Congress,' stated President Thapa.

He assured that if a government is formed under the leadership of the Nepali Congress, no one will have to face humiliation.
