Gas Leak Explosion in Karachi Residential Building Kills Six, Injures Twelve

Karachi. Rescue officials stated that six people were killed and twelve others injured in an explosion caused by a gas leak in a residential building in the southern port city of Karachi on Thursday.

The government rescue office announced in a statement that the accident occurred when the explosion on the first floor of the building partially damaged a section of the structure.

Officials reported that rescue teams immediately reached the scene after being notified of the explosion, and rescuers used all available resources for the search operation to pull the victims out of the debris.

Police stated that the preliminary investigation suggests the explosion was caused by a gas leak from a cylinder. Rescue teams reported that the injured, including children, were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment, and they are continuing excavation efforts to ensure no one is trapped under the rubble.
