Election Commission Issues 'Temporary Voter List Procedure 2082' for Proportional Representation System

Kathmandu. The Election Commission has issued the 'Temporary Voter List Procedure 2082' to manage the collection of temporary voter lists and the permanent voting process for the election to be held under the proportional representation system of the House of Representatives elections.

The Commission has formulated and issued the procedure by exercising the authority granted under Section 44 of the Voter List Act, 2073. According to the procedure, the Commission will publish a notice regarding the program for collecting the permanent voter list. The procedure stipulates that the Commission may also publish and broadcast this information through national-level media as needed.

The names of employees working in the Government of Nepal, Provincial Government, Local Level, and institutions owned or controlled by the government, as well as members of the army, police, inmates and prisoners in jails, employees and security personnel deployed for election work, and heads and office bearers of constitutional bodies will be included in the permanent voter list.

According to the procedure issued by the Election Commission, if any person's name is missed or if there is any error in the name or details of any voter, the concerned person must submit an application with proof to the Chief Registration Officer to include their name or correct the error, the Commission stated.
