Ncell Partners with Super Krishak to Bring Digital and Premium Agricultural Services to Farmers Across Nepal

Kathmandu. Ncell and the digital agriculture platform Super Krishak have collaborated to provide digital and premium agricultural services to farmers nationwide. The main objective of this collaboration is to make modern agricultural services easily accessible to all farmers via mobile phones.

This partnership is a historic step towards digitizing Nepal's agriculture sector and reducing the digital divide within the sector. Currently, more than 30,000 farmers across the country have registered on the Super Krishak platform.

This platform offers digital tools and services such as online agricultural training, Agri Doctor, and crop monitoring (satellite monitoring), enabling farmers to self-assess by receiving real-time agricultural advice, pest and crop problem identification, and crop monitoring information directly through their mobile phones.

This collaboration ensures that farmers in every district of the country can receive advanced, affordable, and locally tailored agricultural consultation via their mobile phones. From the high hills to the plains of the Terai, expert advice and access to modern technology are now ensured in the hands of every farmer.

With Ncell's extensive network reach and millions of active customers, Super Krishak's premium services are now available to the general farming community as a value-added telecommunication service. For the first time in Nepal, farmers can now easily avail themselves of agricultural services directly from their mobile balance, similar to how they use voice, data, or SMS services.

Farmers can access this service through the Super Krishak app. Various subscription packages for different durations are available on this app. Those wishing to take the one-year pack in installments will have to pay NPR 1,560 annually by paying NPR 13 every three days. Similarly, for six months, they will have to pay a total of NPR 840 by paying NPR 14 every three days. 

Farmers paying in a lump sum can avail the service by paying NPR 756 for six months and NPR 1,248 for one year. The applicable fee is deducted from the main balance after the farmer selects the appropriate service.

Under the premium service, farmers can benefit from training modules containing detailed and step-by-step learning materials on modern agricultural technology. Furthermore, through the Agri Doctor facility, farmers can identify over 800 crop diseases, pests, and other problems using AI. After identifying the crop problem, this service also suggests solutions as needed. Farmers can also receive fact-based personalized consultation in their local language whenever required.

Ncell and Super Krishak aim to reach more than 120,000 farmers with this service within the next year. This significant step is expected to contribute importantly to enhancing agricultural knowledge, bridging the gap between farmers and experts, and reducing the digital divide in rural Nepal.
