Elderly Man Arrested in Jhapa for Alleged Rape of 27-Year-Old Woman

Jhapa. An elderly man has been arrested in Jhapa on serious charges of raping a 27-year-old woman. Pramananda Poudel, 64, a resident of Barahakshetra Municipality-7, Sunsari, was taken into custody by the police on Thursday night.

This incident came to light after the victim filed a complaint with the police alleging that she had been sexually assaulted.

Immediately upon receiving the complaint, a team deployed from the Shanishchare Police Post took Poudel into custody.

The police are currently holding the arrested individual in custody while gathering detailed information about the incident and collecting evidence. The police have initiated the necessary investigation process regarding this matter.
