Viral 'Mala Seller' Monalisa Debuts as Actress in 'The Diary of Manipur' Teaser

Mumbai. Monalisa, who went viral selling garlands during the Maha Kumbh, has taken a new turn in her life. Monalisa, who gained attention on social media for her eyes and innocent face, is now set to appear on the big screen as an actress.

The teaser for her debut film, 'The Diary of Manipur,' was recently released. Following the teaser's launch, directed by Sanoj Mishra, various reactions have surfaced on social media regarding Monalisa's acting and her transformed look.

Monalisa is presented in a very different and impactful avatar in the teaser. She is shown as 'The Loneliest Girl of Manipur,' wandering alone in the city streets and enjoying nature. She is portrayed in an innocent role, making trees, animals, and butterflies her only companions. 

In some scenes of the teaser, she appears in a romantic mood near a waterfall, while in others, she is seen in an extremely emotional state. Her dialogue includes pleading with folded hands, saying, 'We are very poor people; money is our second god.' Additionally, the teaser offers a small glimpse of her action avatar.

This film is not limited to just one young woman's story. The second part of the teaser also covers the political unrest, riots in the name of caste and religion, movements, and social conflict in Manipur. It appears to attempt to portray the bitter reality of society and political tensions on screen. 

After gaining fame from the Maha Kumbh, Monalisa worked hard to refine herself. She prepared herself for the screen by taking acting training alongside her studies.
