NRNA Governing Body Approves Key Decisions on Membership, Elections, and Financial Transparency Post-Unification

The tenth meeting of the Governing Committee formed after the major unification of the Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) was held on Saturday.

The meeting, conducted by General Secretary Gouribraj Joshi and held on Magh 24, made important decisions regarding membership management, delegate selection, election procedures, and financial transparency.

The meeting decided to confirm the total number of registered members currently in the membership registration system.

This will include members received from the high-level committee and the parallel National Coordination Council. The meeting decided that the emails or phone numbers of the confirmed members will be updated and verified by both the respective National Coordination Council and the working committee integrated into the major unification. Furthermore, the provision requiring the payment of membership fees as per the bylaws will be implemented.

It was also decided that those who have already applied for delegates for the 12th General Convention scheduled for October 2025 will be informed for re-confirmation, and applications of those who do not object within the stipulated time will be re-verified. Applications for new applicants will be kept open until 12 AM on Falgun 1.

Accordingly, the National Coordination Council must submit the final list of delegates by Falgun 3.

The meeting decided to prepare the necessary procedures to make the election process clean, independent, and impartial.

Additionally, the meeting decided to conduct an audit by an independent third party to ensure the financial status of both factions of the association is transparent, with former President RK Sharma coordinating the process, and to send appointment letters to the Chief Election Commissioner and members of the Election Committee.

The meeting also agreed to move forward with a resolution proposal regarding amending the bylaws and granting voting rights to all members in the upcoming General Convention.
