Nepal Has Enacted Over 1,130 Federal Laws, Regulations, and Directives

Kathmandu. A total of 1,130 laws, regulations, and directives have been enacted at the federal level so far. Law, Justice, and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Anil Kumar Sinha provided this information during Monday's meeting of the National Assembly.

According to him, based on the records of the Ministry of Law, 355 acts, 325 regulations and rules, 66 formation orders, 134 directives, and 250 procedures have been created. He also stated that the Delegation of Legislative Power Act, 2081, is being effectively implemented. He informed that as per the provisions in the Delegation of Legislative Power Act, the system of mandatory registration of delegated legislation issued by the concerned ministry or body with the Ministry of Law has been implemented.

Minister Sinha informed that the delegated legislation registered so far includes 8 regulations, 8 bylaws, 45 procedures, 14 directives, and 1 standard. He also stated that the government is striving to amend flawed acts and laws.
