Karnali Province Government to Reintroduce Sports Development Act Amendment Bill to Provincial Assembly

Surkhet. The Karnali Province Government is set to present the bill to amend the 'Karnali Province Sports Development Act, 2076' in the Provincial Assembly for the second time. Government spokesperson Binod Kumar Shah stated that the cabinet meeting held on Sunday has already granted approval for this purpose.

Previously, this bill had gone through the Provincial Assembly and reached the thematic committee. Discussions were not held when the current Social Development Minister, Ghanshyam Bhandari, was about to become the chairperson of the Social Development Committee. Following that, the bill was withdrawn.

The government has now advanced the bill for the second time. Former Social Development Minister Tekraj Pauchai had raised the issue of amending the bill because the Act contained ambiguities regarding several aspects, including the remuneration of the member secretary.

According to government spokesperson Shah, the meeting held on Sunday also decided to allocate 60 lakh rupees for the completion of the building of the Area Police Office, Rakam Karnali, Dailekh. Furthermore, Shah stated that the decision was made to approve the Karnali Province Forest (Second Amendment) Regulation, 2082.
