Nepali Congress President Gagan Thapa States Candidacy in Sarlahi to Bridge Kathmandu and Madhesh Regions

Kathmandu, 24 Magh: Nepali Congress President Gagan Kumar Thapa, who contested for a seat in the House of Representatives from Sarlahi Constituency No. 4, stated that he filed his candidacy from Sarlahi to help Kathmandu understand the Madhesh region. Addressing an interaction program today with voters from Sarlahi Constituency No. 4, who reside in Gokarneshwar Municipality and are involved in various trades, businesses, and professions, President Thapa said he contested to connect Madhesh and Kathmandu.

He said, "My family moved to Kathmandu from the hills, and I understood the hills through my mother. Since I grew up in Kathmandu, I understood the city. Now, as the party president, I felt that national leadership cannot be achieved without understanding Madhesh, which nurtures and grows the Congress, so I came to Madhesh. Kathmandu understands Madhesh superficially, just like me; I will make Kathmandu understand the importance of Madhesh in the next five years." He committed to bringing changes to the daily lives of the general public by working systematically for the overall development of Madhesh in the coming five years.

"My team has studied the necessary work for Sarlahi-4 concerning education, health, technology, and agriculture and provided suggestions; I will work there based on necessity in the coming five years. Just as the residents of Kathmandu-4 urged me to contest the election right here, I will work in such a way that the residents of Sarlahi-4 will make a similar request in the next five years," said President Thapa. He expressed confidence that problems would gradually decrease as he would work on issues related to education, health, and entrepreneurship using his knowledge and network.
