Kathmandu Election Office Urges Political Parties, Candidates to Adhere to Code of Conduct

Kathmandu. The District Election Office Kathmandu has urged political parties, their representatives, and candidates not to violate the election code of conduct. The Election Office made this appeal by issuing a notice on Friday.

The issued notice stated: 'Although discussions, interactions, and publications have been conducted repeatedly to ensure full compliance with this provision of the code of conduct, information has been received that some political parties, their representatives, and candidates are violating this provision by holding corner meetings, publishing and broadcasting promotional materials, and conducting door-to-door campaigns to influence voters. Therefore, you are requested not to engage in or allow such activities.'

Furthermore, the Election Office stated that action will be taken according to prevailing laws if evidence is found that anyone has violated the code of conduct and engaged in campaigning in any manner. The Election Office also noted that some social media and online platforms have been found publishing news contrary to the code of conduct and requested that such activities be stopped.
