Tiger Terror Spreads in Kanchanpur Village, Livestock and Pets Targeted

Kanchanpur. The fear of a tiger has increased in the settlement at the foothills of Chure in Krishnapur Municipality-1, Domillama. For the past five days, in the Amriso orchard area west of the Aishwarya Community Forest, a tigress along with her cub has been dragging away goats from local farmers' sheds and dogs from their courtyards to eat them as soon as evening falls.

According to Ishwar Budha, chairman of the community forest, the tiger roars when people approach the orchard area. Chairman Budha stated that the tiger has so far killed and eaten a goat belonging to local farmer Safal Budha, a castrated goat belonging to Kamal Bag, and dogs belonging to Dharmsingh Mahara and Prembahadur Rawat right from their home courtyards.

“Since the tiger is staying in the Amriso orchard area near the settlement, we have restricted entry into the community forest,” he said. “As the tiger has started creating terror by entering the settlement, we have informed the concerned authorities for its control.”

He added that the community forest users have been alerted to exercise high vigilance for the safety of their lives and property.
