Nepali Congress Lawmaker Expresses Dissatisfaction Over Supreme Court's Delay in Parliament Reinstatement Verdict

Kathmandu. Nepali Congress lawmaker Anand Prasad Dhungana has expressed dissatisfaction over the Supreme Court's failure to deliver a verdict on the case concerning the reinstatement of Parliament.

Speaking during a special time in the National Assembly meeting on Friday, he made the remark. Lawmaker Dhungana asserted that he had never before seen Supreme Court justices appear so helpless.

He cited the example of the Panchayat era when judges prioritized concluding cases, stating that the current situation, where that is not happening, is a matter of concern.

Lawmaker Dhungana stated, 'The nationality of this country has weakened. A case has been filed for the reinstatement of Parliament. The justices have become so helpless. I do not know why Nepal's judges have become so helpless. Even during the Panchayat, during the King's time, when a case related to state affairs was filed against oneself, a decision was made immediately. But that is not the situation today.'

Lawmaker Dhungana also accused the government of failing to pay necessary attention to the national interest.
