Cash and Valuables Stolen in Daylight Burglary in Kathmandu's Basantapur Area

Kathmandu. A theft occurred in broad daylight in the Basantapur area of the capital. Valuables worth approximately 7 lakh 20 thousand rupees were stolen from the room of Sita Rawal, who resides in Ward No. 3 of Kathmandu Metropolitan City, on Thursday afternoon.

Police stated that the thief took advantage of the absence of occupants in the room belonging to the 36-year-old Rawal, whose permanent address is Godawari Municipality-2, Kailali. According to Rawal, cash and precious jewelry were stolen from the room.

Immediately after being informed of the incident, the police collected a record of the scene and began an investigation. Police informed that the individuals involved in the theft are currently at large and a massive search operation is underway.

Recently, a gang specializing in burglaries during daytime hours when homes are empty has been observed to be active in Kathmandu.
