Election Commission Publishes Sample Ballot for Rukum West By-election; Janardan Sharma Contests on New Party Ticket

Kathmandu. The Election Commission has published the sample ballot paper for the direct election in Rukum West, scheduled for Falgun 21. Accordingly, there are 12 candidates in Rukum West.

In the same constituency, Janardan Sharma, the patron of the Pragatisheel Loktantrik Party (PratiloPa), is contesting with the eye symbol. Sharma left the Maoist party to form a new party.

Although the CPN-UML also has an election symbol in that constituency, an agreement has been reached for the UML candidate to support PratiloPa. Similarly, Raju KC is the candidate from the Nepali Congress and Gopal Sharma is the candidate from the CPN (Maoist Centre). Candidates from 9 other parties are also in the field with their respective election symbols.
