Janata Pharmaceuticals to Establish State-of-the-Art Facility in Bharatpur

Chitwan. Janata Pharmaceuticals Pvt. Ltd. is set to establish a modern new industry in Bharatpur. The company will invest an additional NPR 4.75 billion in the project.

According to Hari Bhakta Sharma, Executive Director of Pharmaceuticals, construction work has begun for the company's second unit in Bharatpur Metropolitan City-16. Preliminary work is underway.

The process for obtaining necessary permissions from government agencies for the additional construction is currently in progress. He stated that the goal is to complete the construction within two years. The industry plans to undertake the main construction work within the next two months.

He mentioned that upon completion of this unit, employment opportunities will be created for approximately 550 people directly. Deurali-Janata is a leading pharmaceutical industry in Nepal that has been producing essential life-saving medicines domestically for the past 35 years.

Currently, the company produces 296 types of medicines, including 'Capsules', 'Tablets', 'Liquid', 'Ointment', and 'Dry Powder'. He stated that this industry, which has received international certifications like WHO GMP, ISO 9001, and ISO 14001, is contributing towards making the country self-reliant by reducing dependence on medicine imports.

The company stated that with the establishment of the new factory in Chitwan, there is an expectation that product diversification, quality improvement, and the competitive capacity of Nepali medicines in the international market will increase. Currently, the industry is located in Tokha, Kathmandu. This is the first unit, and the second unit is being brought into operation in Bharatpur.
