Former Chief Secretary Urges Supreme Court to Expedite Verdict on House Reinstatement Case

Kathmandu. Former Chief Secretary Eknarayan Aryal has drawn the attention of the Supreme Court to expedite the verdict regarding the case of the reinstatement of the House of Representatives.

He argued that since the matter has also raised doubts about holding elections on the scheduled date, the Supreme Court should resolve the related case quickly.

Speaking at an event organized by the Nepal Law Society in Kathmandu on Tuesday, former Chief Secretary Aryal also recalled the fact that various problems arise in the country when state organs fail to fulfill their responsibilities on time.

He said, "Elections must be held at the scheduled time. But while saying this, it is also good to conclude what is pending in the Supreme Court in time. Because the election schedule has already moved forward. That can be concluded by just stating it. We have made many such decisions. Why keep it in doubt? Various problems have arisen at different times when state organs do not function properly. This is an issue seen in governance. These things should come up."

Former Chief Secretary Aryal emphasized that elections should be held in all constituencies on the scheduled date, rather than postponing the election date.
