Fugitive Wanted for 11 Years in Murder Case Arrested in Siraha

Siraha. Siraha police have arrested a defendant involved in a homicide case who had been absconding for the past 11 years. Mithu Safi Dhobi, 56, of the former Aurahi Village Development Committee Ward No. 8, who had been absconding since B.S. 2071, was taken into custody by the police on Magh 15 while hiding in his village.

According to the incident details, local resident Doma Saday, 45, was found dead in his home on the morning of Bhadra 19, 2071. During the investigation into the incident, the deceased's wife, Amoliya Devi Saday, filed a written complaint. The investigation revealed that Mithu Safi and Doma Saday had an argument and quarrel after consuming intoxicants on the night of the incident.

Mithu, who fled after being accused of murder, was successfully arrested by a team from the District Police Office, Siraha, after a long search. The arrested individual was remanded in custody after obtaining an extension from the Siraha District Court on Magh 19.

According to Deputy Superintendent of Police and Information Officer Ramesh Bahadur Pal, further legal investigation into the matter is currently underway.
