Veteran CPN Leader and Former Rural Municipality Chairman Shree Prasad Mukhiya Dies of Heart Attack

Rautahat. Leader of the Communist Party of Nepal (CPN), Shree Prasad Mukhiya (Chandrika), has passed away due to a heart attack. Mukhiya, who was also the former chairman of Yamunamai Rural Municipality, died on the way to the hospital for treatment on Monday night.

After suddenly suffering a heart attack around 12 AM, efforts were immediately made to take him to Birgunj. Mukhiya, who held the responsibility of District Secretary during the People's War period, was known in Rautahat politics as an influential and dynamic leader. The news of his untimely demise has shocked the political and social sphere of Rautahat.

Mukhiya was elected as the Chairman of Yamunamai Rural Municipality in the 2074 local level elections. Locals recall that during his tenure, he undertook significant work for the development of the rural municipality and in favor of social justice. Colleagues and well-wishers highly praised the role he played throughout his life in expanding the party organization and advocating for the rights and welfare of the people.

Leaders from various political parties have expressed grief, stating that the party has lost a dedicated and honest leader with his passing. Family sources indicated that Mukhiya's mortal remains will be kept at his residence in Yamunamai today for final respects.
