Home Minister Aryal Calls Upcoming Election a Crucial Test for Democracy, Directs Enhanced Security

Kathmandu. Home Minister Omprakash Aryal stated that the election scheduled for Falgun 21 is a significant test for democracy. Addressing the police inspector passing-out ceremony organized at the National Police Training Academy in Maharajgunj, Home Minister Aryal directed for effective election security.

He said, 'The upcoming election is a crucial test for democracy; make election security effective.' Mentioning that no element should be allowed to influence the impartiality of the police, he told the graduating inspectors, 'Do not let the trust of the service recipients be broken.'  

Stating that the Home Ministry wants to make the police capable, Minister Aryal said, 'We want to make the police capable, not control them.' He added that the Home Ministry under his leadership wants to provide direction, not pressure, to the police.

Aryal stated that zero tolerance will be implemented in home administration and security agencies. 'The police uniform is not a symbol of rights, but of sacrifice and responsibility,' Minister Aryal said, 'The heat of zeal must show the warmth of maturity.'
