Truck Hits Scooter in Dang, Nepal; Son Dies, Father Injured

Ghorahi. A son died and the father was injured when a truck hit a scooter in Ghorahi, Dang. The accident occurred today near Bhingreli Village Hotel in Ghorahi Metropolitan City-15 along the Ghorahi-Lamahi road section. A truck with license plate Sudurpashchim Pradesh 01-002 Kha 2580, traveling from Lamahi towards Ghorahi, struck a scooter with license plate Ra 5 Pa 3639 heading towards Lamahi, resulting in the death of 22-year-old Ankit Chaudhary of Lamahi-6.

District Police Office DSP Resham Bohora informed that Chaudhary died during treatment at Rapti Academy of Health Sciences after being critically injured in the accident. According to him, the father of the deceased, Ankit Chaudhary, who was driving the scooter, 53-year-old Indra Bahadur Chaudhary of Lamahi-6, was injured. The injured Chaudhary sustained injuries to his right leg and fingers on his left hand.

Police have taken the truck driver, 42-year-old Raju Saud of Dilasaini Rural Municipality-5, Baitadi, into custody from Gogli in Ghorahi Metropolitan City-3.
