Filmmaker Vishal Bhardwaj Appeals to Arijit Singh to Reverse Retirement Decision

Mumbai. The film industry and fans have been stunned after Arijit Singh, considered the king of Indian playback singing, announced his retirement from singing. Following Arijit's unexpected decision, renowned director and musician Vishal Bhardwaj has publicly appealed to him to return to the magical world of music.

Director Bhardwaj shared an emotional video on Instagram on Friday, recalling a special moment with Arijit. In the video, Vishal is seen singing at a gathering while Arijit is filming him.  

'A few days ago, we were sitting together jamming for this song, I didn't know this would be one of my last film songs with Arijit,' Vishal wrote in the caption. He tagged Arijit and urged him to reconsider his decision.

Arijit had officially announced his departure from playback singing via social media on January 27. Thanking his listeners, he stated that he would not record songs for any new films from now on. 'Thank you for loving me for so many years, it has been a wonderful journey, but I am ending it here,' Arijit had written.
