Development Banker Urges Political Parties to Prioritize Economic Agenda in Manifestos

Kathmandu. Madhav Prasad Upadhyaya, Secretary of the Development Bankers Association Nepal and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Garima Bikas Bank, stated that political parties must bring manifestos that dispel the current pessimism and prioritize trade.

While giving suggestions at the program 'Economic Agenda in Party Manifestos' organized by the Economic Journalists Association of Nepal in Kathmandu on Sunday, Upadhyaya said that manifestos should be prepared with a plan to produce and export goods and services consumed by the populations of China and India.

"There are 58 million deposit accounts. Some of these may be duplicates; activities that affect the deposits of these depositors must be avoided, and securing the banking sector must be everyone's priority," Upadhyaya said. "The plan to sell our goods in India and China must be included in the party manifestos."
