Man Arrested in Tanahun for Alleged Triple Homicide; Seven-Day Custody Extended

One person has been arrested in connection with the murder of three individuals in Shuklaphanta Municipality-5, Tanahun. The accused has been presented by the police. A seven-day remand has been extended against him.

Police stated that Kumar Nepali, 46, originally from Kaski and residing in Shuklaphanta Municipality-5, had his custody extended by seven days by the District Court on Thursday.

District Police Office Deputy Superintendent of Police Shrawan Kumar Bik reported that further investigation is underway with the custody extended in a case related to culpable homicide. Police recovered a knife, slippers, a shawl, and used clothing from the accused.

On the morning of Poush 26 at approximately 9:30 AM, the bodies of three people were found murdered at Kaseri Ghat on the Seti River. The bodies found near the Shuklaphanta Waste Treatment Center belonged to Narayan Bik, 39, of Shuklaphanta Municipality-11, Deumaya Thapa, 58, of Bhimad Municipality-8, and an unidentified man estimated to be around 55 years old.

Following the incident, an intensive investigation was conducted by a team including trained dogs, experts from the Gandaki Province Police Office Pokhara, and the Nepal Police Provincial Office Pokhara. The body of the unidentified man has been kept in the morgue, and his description has been circulated for identification.
