Scooter Rider Dies After Being Struck by Tipper Truck in Bhaktapur

Kathmandu. A scooter rider died after being hit by a tipper truck in Kamalbinayak, Bhaktapur Municipality-10, Bhaktapur. On Wednesday night, the tipper truck, bearing registration number Prades-3-01-003 Ka 6291, traveling in the opposite direction, struck the scooter with registration number Bagmati Pradesh-02-020 Pa 1168, which was heading from Kamalbinayak towards Chyamashingh.

SP Surya Khadka of Bhaktapur informed Ratopati that the scooter rider, 26-year-old Bimal Banmala, a resident of Bhaktapur Municipality-8, died during treatment.

Initially, a motorcycle with registration number Ba. 55 Pa 1745 had lost control and fallen at the accident site. Investigation revealed that the scooter subsequently collided with the fallen motorcycle, which was traveling in the same direction, before being struck by the tipper. The motorcycle rider, 24-year-old Rajesh Banmala, a resident of Bhaktapur, is currently receiving treatment at Bhaktapur Hospital, Dudhpat. All three vehicles have been impounded at the Jagaati Police Circle.
