Actor Bijay Baral Debuts as Singer with Protest Song 'Bidhi Ko Shasan'

Acclaimed actor Bijay Baral, known for his work on stage and screen, has made his debut as a singer. He launched his singing career with the track titled 'Bidhi Ko Shasan' (Rule of Law). The song is presented not just as entertainment, but as a powerful 'voice' against the current political system and its anomalies.

The song, featuring lyrics by Saurabh Karki and music by Prashant Siwakoti, depicts the contemporary political situation in the country. Specifically, the core message of the song revolves around the issues raised during the 'Gen Z' protests held in Kathmandu on Bhadra 23 and 24.

The track conveys the message that for national development and prosperity, the rule of system and law is mandatory, rather than the whims and autocratic style of an individual. The song incorporates sentiments from various youth uprisings, ranging from the Jan Andolan (People's Movement) of 2040 to the changes brought by 2062/63, up to the recent youth revolts.

Bijay stated that although he has always been interested in singing, the right opportunity arose now. "I am not a singer, but my friends encouraged me, saying my voice suits singing and I should try it. Embracing the trust of my friends, I made an attempt," Bijay added.

The music video for the song utilizes actual photographs and footage from various political revolutions in Nepal. The video, created under the concept of Manish Raut, accurately captures the police suppression and the anger of the youth, featuring scenes from the 2040 movement activists to the Second Jan Andolan of 2062/63 and the recent Gen Z movement. This imbues the song with the weight of a historical 'documentary' rather than just a musical creation.
