Nepal Stock Exchange Index Sees Significant Surge to Five-Month High

A significant improvement was observed in the share market index (NEPSE) on Sunday, the first day of the week. Today, the index increased by 57.55 points to close at 2772.17, marking its highest level in five months.

Market transaction volume also showed enthusiasm today. During the day, a total turnover of NPR 13 billion 78 crore 57 lakh was recorded from the buying and selling of 3 crore 9 lakh shares of 331 companies.

The price movement for most companies in today's market was positive. Among the total traded companies, the share prices of 240 companies increased, while 19 companies saw a decline. Five companies hit the positive circuit breaker with a 10 percent gain.

These companies included SY Panel, Srinagar Agrotech, Nepal Micro Insurance, Bandipur Cable Car, Himstar Urja, Mailung Energy, Reliance Finance, and Aakhukhola Hydropower Company. The price of Everest Bank's debenture fell the most, declining by 5.80 percent.

In terms of sectors, all indices saw a rise of more than one percent in today's market. The Hotel Index increased the most, surging by 3.35 percent.

In terms of turnover volume, Arun Kabeli Power led the trading, with its shares worth over NPR 43 crore 59 lakh being traded. Following this, Green Ventures recorded a turnover of NPR 39 crore 77 lakh, and Shivam Cement traded NPR 32 crore worth of shares.
