Controversial Actor Kamaal Rashid Khan Arrested by Mumbai Police Over Firing Incident

Mumbai. Controversial actor and film critic Kamaal Rashid Khan (KRK) was arrested by the Mumbai Police on Saturday. He was taken into custody in connection with an incident where shots were fired at a residential building in Oshiwara, Mumbai.

According to the police, KRK admitted to firing two rounds from his licensed weapon at Nalanda Society in Oshiwara on January 18. A case has been registered against him under various sections of the Indian Penal Code and the Arms Act.

During the investigation of the incident, the police recovered two spent casings from the society premises. One of these casings was found on the second floor, and the other on the fourth floor. Interestingly, one of these flats belongs to writer-director Neeraj Kumar Mishra, and the other belongs to model Prateek Vaidya.

Although initially no concrete evidence was found from CCTV footage, the police summoned KRK to the Oshiwara police station for questioning after forensic tests indicated the shots were fired from KRK's bungalow nearby. The motive behind KRK firing the shots has not yet been revealed.

KRK is always in the spotlight in Bollywood due to his controversial remarks. He, who calls himself a film critic, has made sharp comments against veteran stars like Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, and Ajay Devgn.

Salman Khan had even filed a defamation suit against him. KRK, who appeared in the lead role in his self-produced film 'Deshdrohi' in 2008, played a supporting role in the 2014 hit film 'Ek Villain'.
