India Dominates New Zealand with Second T20 Victory in Raipur Thriller

Raipur. India registered its second consecutive victory against New Zealand in the T20 series on home soil, maintaining its dominance. India stunned the Kiwi team by 7 wickets in the match held in Raipur on Friday.

India successfully chased down the massive target of 209 runs set by New Zealand in just 15.2 overs, losing only 3 wickets. With this victory, India has taken a crucial 2-0 lead in the 5-match series. The third match of the series will be held in Guwahati on January 25.

Captain Suryakumar Yadav and Ishan Kishan displayed explosive performances at the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh Stadium in Raipur. Suryakumar played an unbeaten innings of 82 runs off just 37 balls, while Ishan Kishan contributed 76 runs off 32 balls.

These two batters shared a magnificent partnership of 122 runs for the second wicket. Although Abhishek Sharma was out for zero and Sanju Samson scored 6 runs, it did not hinder India's victory.

Earlier, batting first after losing the toss, New Zealand scored 208 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in their allotted 20 overs. Although Captain Mitchell Santner remained unbeaten on 47 and Rachin Ravindra scored 44 runs for the visiting team, Indian bowler Kuldeep Yadav took 2 wickets, putting some restraint on the scoring rate.

This victory became quite historic for India. This is India's fastest-ever victory while chasing a target of over 200 runs. India set a record by achieving the target with 28 balls remaining.

Successfully chasing a target of 200 or more for the sixth time in T20 internationals, India moved to second place on this list after Australia. This is also India's second-biggest run chase. Playing its 100th T20 match on home soil, India made this victory even more special.

Ishan Kishan, who had an excellent batting performance in the match, was declared the Player of the Match.
