Manchester United Confirms Brazilian Midfielder Casemiro Will Leave Club at End of Season

Old Trafford. Brazilian midfielder Casemiro will leave Manchester United at the end of this season. The club has formally confirmed his departure from Old Trafford following the expiration of his contract.

The 33-year-old Casemiro, who joined United from Real Madrid in 2022 for a hefty sum of £70 million, has played 146 matches for the club so far.

Casemiro's arrival was highly beneficial for United in the initial period. In his first season, United managed to finish third in the Premier League, and he played a decisive role in winning the 2023 Carabao Cup.

Casemiro scored the opening goal in that final match against Newcastle. However, questions regarding Casemiro's future began to surface after the club's new co-owner, Sir Jim Ratcliffe, criticized some players for earning salaries exceeding their performance levels.

Following the announcement of his departure, Casemiro gave an emotional response, stating that Manchester United will remain in his heart forever. He mentioned that it is not yet time for a full farewell and that there are many more memories to be made with the club in the remaining four months of the season.

Promising that his entire focus and energy will be centered on bringing success to the club, he also expressed his commitment to fighting hard in the United jersey for the remaining time.
