Four security personnel injured in attack by locals demanding release of accused

Parsa – Four security personnel were injured when came under attack of people of Sedhawa in Parsa who reached the local police post, seeking the release of six accused including four Indian nationals, arrested on the charge of theft and mistreating the police. 


The injured are Assistant Sub Inspectors of Police-- Gopal Khadka, Sukeshwor Mahato and Shambhu Yadav--and policeman Jay Prakash Yadav, according to the District Police Office Parsa's Deputy Superintendent of Police, Rajan Limbu.

They all are undergoing treatment at the Birgunj-based Narayani Sub Regional Hospital. 
A mob of locals reached the police post demanding the release of all the accused also torched two motorcycles and a police vehicle.

Police was forced to open teargas shells and some rounds of fire in air to disperse the mob. Among the four injured policemen, condition of two is said to be out of a life-threatening condition while condition of two others is yet to be known. 


Four Indians who were caught last night riding on a single motorcycle en route to India allegedly manhandled the security personnel of Police Beat, Mahadevpatti during interrogations, forcing the police to take them under control. 


Likewise, two persons arrested from Suwarnapur on the charge of theft are in the police detention. The Sedhawa folks visited the police post, to pile pressure on the police administration to free all the six accused.

They attacked police personnel with rocks and wooden logs and set two motorcycles on fire, DSP Limbu said. (Photo available)
