AIG promotion – those who came from National Investigation were not recommended

Kathmandu. The officers from the National Investigation Department who were in the race for the Additional Inspector General of Police (AIG) have been released. The then Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane had passed over Siddhi Bikram Shah, Sushil Singh Rathore and Uma Prasad Chaturvedi for DIG promotion despite being senior, saying that they were transferred from the National Investigation Department. However, this time the group wanted to be promoted ahead of the previous group.

They were not recommended for promotion. They joined the National Investigation Department on 2053 Poush 5 and joined the police. The group was dissatisfied that those who entered the service about 15 months late were made DIGs earlier. They, who became DIGs in 2081 Mangsir, had lobbied hard to be promoted to AIG.

While recommending promotion on Thursday, the promotion committee passed over Dr. Manoj Kumar KC. When he became DIG on 2081 Jestha 4, he was ahead of Rajan Adhikari.
