14 injured in road mishap in Baitadi

Baitadi – A total of 14 people were injured when a bus (Na 5 Kha 4116) en route to Mahendranagar from Ganna of Baitadi met with an accident at Anarkholi along Dasharath highway in Baitadi district this morning. 


The injured are Lokendra Thapa, 35, Sunita Airi, 22, Adarsha Dhami, 8 and pashupati Airi, 16, of Bedkot municipality-4 of Kanchanpur, Sher Singh Dhami, 28, Rupesh Dhami, 5, Bagmati Dhami, 22, Rijan Dhami, Hemanti Dhami, 10, Bibek Dhami, 8 and Nitesh Dhami, 5, of Apihimal rural municipality-5 of Darchula. 


Similarly, Basanta Bohara, 19, of Dasharathchanda municipality-2, Ramesh Khatri, 22, of Shaiyashikhar municipality-7 and Dankure Mahara, 55, of Darchuila, currently living in Kailali, were also injured in the incident. 


Of the injured, condition of bus driver, Lokendra Thapa, is critical, according to the District Police Office, Baitadi.


The accident took place when the bus parked on the roadside after it malfunctioned slipped back all of a sudden. As the bus fell on the previous turn of the road below, it has blocked traffic along the highway. All the injured are receiving treatment at Far-Western Sub Regional Hospital, Dadeldhura.
