MoU signed for promoting tourism between Gandaki and Koshi provinces

Gandaki, Jan 12: A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed with a view to promoting tourism, developing infrastructure, enhancing access, leveraging human resource and enhancing institutional collaboration between the Gandaki and Koshi provinces.

In view of the Koshi Province Tourism Year 2082, the MoU was signed today in Pokhara during the inter-province promotion programme, goodwill visit, and interaction organized by the Ministry of Tourism, Forests, and Environment of Koshi Province in collaboration with the Nepal Association of Tour and Travel Agents (NATTA) of Gandaki Province.

The MoU was signed by acting Secretary of the Ministry, Tikaram Paudel, and Tourism Secretary of Koshi Province, Dr. Indra Prasad Sapkota, in the presence of Minister of Industry and Tourism of Gandaki Province, Mithralal Basyal, and Minister of Tourism, Forests, and Environment of Koshi Province, Bhim Parajuli.

The memorandum aims to contribute to the sustainable development of the tourism sector in both provinces. It has stipulated initiatives for inter-provincial exchange visits targeting government employees and community school teachers, promotion packages at the government level, and the development of affordable tourism packages at the private/business level.

Chairperson of NATTA Gandaki Province Kishor Dahal said the execution of the MoU for tourism promotion would benefit both the provinces.
