NYC coming with plan to build 'one model village' in every province

Kathmandu –The National Youth Council (NYC) has planned to develop 'one model village in every province' this year. According to Council vice chair Madhab Dhungel, a model village will be developed in all seven provinces. 

Such village will see the mobilisation of youths and implementation of youths-related programmes. Youths associated with government and non-government sectors would be mobilised and they will be provided a platform to explore vocational skills. Such villages will be youth-friendly. 

The Council has already directed its local-level and district-level bodies to select a village for the implementation of its plan which, in its first phase, will cover rural municipalities while backward villages and municipalities during the second phase. 

The Council plans to formulate criteria and procedure regarding the plan by mid-June this year. The Council is waiting for the budget speech for the upcoming fiscal to go to villages with the programme.
