Physical infrastructure along Hetauda road being cleared for widening works

Bagamati, Dec 6: The clearance of physical infrastructure along the Hetauda main road in Bagamati Province began this morning as part of a road-widening project.

According to the Road Division Office, Hetauda, structures located within the designated road area are being removed with the help of a JCB excavator. Under the project, the road will be widened up to 25 gaj on both sides in the main market area.

Earlier, on November 21, the Office had issued a public notice requesting concerned people to clear all permanent and temporary houses, sheds, and other structures built within 25 gaj on either side of the road’s central line from Ratamate to Buddha Chowk and up to the Rapti River bridge along the EastWest Highway, and from Buddha Chowk to Samari Bridge along the Tribhuvan Highway within 15 days.

As the notice remained unresponsive, the Office has now begun removing the structures on its own, it is said.
