"Hanumante River is Full of Garbage, Says Prime Minister"

Kathmandu, Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli emphasized that Nepal has the potential to become a disease-free nation. Speaking at the Full Khop Declaration program on Friday, he stated that while Nepal’s air is pure and sacred, the country must strive to prevent diseases from spreading.

"Let’s build a healthy Nepal where no one suffers from illness," the Prime Minister said, highlighting ongoing efforts in Bagmati Province to promote public health. He praised the Full Khop initiative as a success, stressing that individual and collective efforts are key to making Nepal cleaner and healthier.

"This is a long-term mission, but we must seize this extraordinary opportunity," PM Oli remarked. "Our vision is a prosperous Nepal with happy citizens. Good governance and cleanliness are essential to achieving this goal."

While acknowledging that the journey is challenging, he expressed confidence in Nepal’s ability to improve its healthcare system. "The destination may seem far, but with determination, we can transform our health sector," he added.

During his address, the Prime Minister also raised concerns about pollution, particularly in the Hanumante River. "The Hanumante River is filled with waste, this is unacceptable," he said. "If we can manage cleanliness in other areas, why not here?"

He urged local authorities and citizens to take responsibility, suggesting regular clean-up campaigns. "Nepal can remain clean and healthy if we organize systematic efforts, whether weekly or monthly clean-up drives," PM Oli asserted.
